Gather Data, Create Safer Campuses

Many post-secondary institutions are accountable to legislation that requires them to report data about sexual violence on campus. REES simplifies the data collection and analysis process through use of consistent data collection methods, comprehensive questions and multiple response answers. REES compiles aggregate anonymous data after each academic term and provides a detailed report for each campus partner.

Whether to supplement, or replace, existing data collection methods or to begin collecting data for the first time, REES provides valuable information that can assist institutions to fulfill reporting requirements and evaluate campus response on an annual and on-going basis.

“If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it.”

— Peter Drucker

Features

anonymous report
Anonymous Report

provides an option for survivors to have their anonymous data about campus-related sexual violence provided to the post-secondary institution without making a formal disclosure or complaint. This data can be used to inform policy, develop prevention education, enhance security on campus and meet reporting requirements.

report to police
Report to Police

is an optional feature available in partnership with local law enforcement. When a survivor chooses this reporting option, REES will transfer their contact information and Record directly to police.

Connect to My Campus

enables survivors to reach out to the designated staff contact at their post-secondary institution for information about supports and resources available to them both on and off campus. REES provides the option to send their Record and/or Narrative of the incident online directly to the staff contact.

repeat perpetrator identification
Repeat Perpetrator Identification (RPI)

is a feature of REES that helps to identify a person that has perpetrated sexual violence against multiple people. A survivor can provide specific identifying information about the perpetrator and if there is a match of identifying information provided by two survivors, the designated campus contact will be informed.

Privacy is essential to the
work we do.

REES gives control to survivors over their personal data.  When a Record is created with REES only the survivor can access it until they choose if and when to share it and with whom.

With data stored in Canada, REES strives for compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and is developed using the principles of Privacy by Design.

FAQs

Getting Started

If you are interested in learning more about REES or having a demo, you can contact us at hello@reescommunity.com.

Bringing REES to your campus is straightforward. We send out a Customization Checklist to be completed by the post-secondary institution. REES provides a media toolkit to support your campus communication strategy. As REES is a web-based platform, it does not require extensive IT support from the post-secondary institution.

REES Campus Features

REES Campus provides each institution their own dedicated portal for reporting. It is customized for each campus partner with their sexual violence policies and campus/community resources.

REES provides institutions with data from their Anonymous Reports submitted by members of the campus community. Anonymous Reports include information provided by the survivor about where and when the incident occurred, school status, and other non-identifying characteristics of the incident. The frequency of providing Anonymous Report data can be tailored to meet the needs of your institution. REES also collects demographic information to better understand who is using REES and how it is meeting their needs.
